what do you think the state of the Notre Dame football program would be had George O'Leary not lied on his resume and been kept as the ND head coach?

He has certainly done a good job at UCF.

Unless they lowered their entrance standards to the days of Holtz they would have had similar seasons.

I don't know but I would damn sure rather live in Orlando than South Bend. Not to mention that he pays no state income tax living in Florida. The expectations are low at UCF where they are unattainable at ND.

Except for the Ereck Plancher case.

O'Leary is a much better coach than anything Notre Dame has had of late.

Do you really think he would not have done better than Tyrone Willingham or Charlie Weis? He's done very well at both GT and UCF which aren't easy places to recruit comparing to surrounding schools.

The Notre Dame job pays a hell of a lot more than UCF.

Maybe not now after winning the Fiesta Bowl. Something tells me that O'Leary has a big raise coming his way.

You really think there is a chance that UCF will pay their coach more than Notre Dame's?

If Mangino and Leach were fired for treating athletes poorly, O'Leary wouldn't have lasted 2 seasons in the spotlight at South Bend.

Maybe not per season but over the long haul I bet O'Leary makes more money than the coach at Notre Dame. O'Leary has been the HC at UCF since 2004 and in that same period of time ND has had three coaches if I am thinking correctly: Tyrone Willingham, Charlie Weis, and now Brian Kelly.

I think O'Leary makes about 2 mil a year with all incentives included for tv, radio, and bonuses and like I previously said he doesn't have to live in snow for five months out of the year and he pays no state income taxes in Florida whereas in Indiana taxes are 3.4% of your total AGI.

Nothing great or special about it, it's a place to stay a couple nights in, not live.

If you've never lived here you cannot make that statement. I've lived here for nearly 25 years and I can say with a great deal of certainty that it aint bad, aint bad at all.
