Could you pay someone to dogsit--come to your house once or twice a day and feed her/let her out? My daughter has done it for one of her friends and our neighbors a few times.

as i see it, one of two things is going on here:

1. you're not doing enough. dogs are infallible creatures, and if there's a problem, it's because of the owner. you think she'll eat steak? then frickin feed her steak. would you rather her not eat and die? wow. makes me wonder what other shortcuts you're taking with her health. maybe you're not mentally equipped to be a dog owner, b/c anyone else would have given her steak already.
2. she found out that she's black

What kind of boarding place is it? Is she in the kennel all day long, except when they take her out twice a day to shite and eat? If so, try a different place that lets her play/exercise all day with the other dogs there. It will be a little more expensive, but she'll be more comfortable and less anxious.

I had a dog that would do the same, get depressed and starve itself when kenneled at the Vet, but the Vet would give those dogs Popeye's chicken after a couple days and the dog would eat they said the dogs could never resist the fried chicken...
