First of all, to the people who built up the expectations that he was going to light the world on fire, you can only blame yourself. 2-3 weeks of 1st-team reps, playing a pretty good defense that had everything in their favor regarding the passing game, being that LSU only threw it when they had to.

Iowa has a better defense than half the teams LSU played this year, including Georgia, Auburn, Arkansas, and Ole Miss. To think in his first ever start, after 3 weeks of 1st team reps, he was going to light the world on fire? Your bad. He's only a year removed from HS.

To compare him to other "freshmen" QBs like Marcus Mariota, Johnny Manziel, Brett Hundley, Jameis Winston, Kevin Hogan, Christian Hackenberg, etc is just completely idiotic. First of all, NONE of those QBs were true freshmen outside of Christian Hackenberg, and to be fair to Jennings, he will never be on Hackenbergs level. To be fair to Jennings, he didn't receive anywhere NEAR the number of reps that any of those QBs got. All of them had a complete FULL year, and then some befor they were even ASKED to complete a meaningful snap. To give up and throw away the season, after a QB who had 3 meaningful weeks of meaningful reps..I have no answer for you people.

I'm not saying he's going to win #4Heismans, but it's completely idiotic to give up on him after this. Some of you will never be able to enjoy LSU football, and for that, I'm sorry.

Happy new year

He had a bruising running game that was gashing Iowa and two NFL receivers who were open all year long.

He is also supposedly able to run.

He could not find open receivers.

He did not make the decision to run when he could have.

He was indecisive and held on to the ball too long.

He was wildly inaccurate on short, medium, and deep passes.

He did not play well at all.

Don't make excuses for him. It is what it is. Could he get better? Yes. But, until I see it on the field and considering that we are losing our starting QB, LT, top 4 WRs, our 1400 yard HB, and FB, I am VERY worried about the offense next year. We lose basically ALL of our offensive production and we have a QB who threw for 80 yards on 35% passing in his only college start.

Can he get better? Hopefully. But, Jordan Jefferson in his bowl game with a month of practice looked great and we see how that turned out. Basically, we still know nothing.

I'm with this guy. What we saw from Jennings is what we should have expected. Hope for better, but it was expected. This is a credit to Miles and Cam to establish a game plan that secured victory with the greatest chance of success (Run, Run, pass when you have to). I think if they had a re-do of that game, we would pass less...

That formula was spot on with the defense playing the way they did. That was a good (not great) win for the Tigers. BTW...the game was never in doubt which proves the game plan was well conceived. Enjoy the win.

Maybe what we saw from Jennings was the reason he did not get more meaningful snaps this year. He wasn't ready for prime time. That's not to say he won't be ready for next year. The best QB will earn the job. Yes. I believe the best QB has always played for LSU since Miles has been there, 1/9/12 included.

Edit: To say it more accurately, I believe the QB that gives LSU the best chance to win has always played for LSU since Miles has been there, 1/9/12 included.

See, you're already writing the season off. There's nothing I can say to you that will make you think difference, so I'm not even going to bother.

Last years Heisman winner in his first college start as a 2nd year College Freshmen, with ALL offseason to prepare: 23/30 173 Yards, 0 TDs

I saw him lead a team 99 yards to win an SEC game. Amazing what you see when you open your fricking eyes.

My eyes are open.

Coming in for one drive and hitting a 49 yard TD pass to a wide open WR is awesome. It really is. But, it didn't translate to actual game prep.

I am not concerned that he didn't throw for 300 yards and 3 TD's. I am concerned that he looked shell shocked and like he had no idea what he was doing and that the offense was scaled back to a high school level and he still didn't execute.

I am a charter member of the Positiger club. Always have been. But, I saw what I saw and I am REALLY glad that the defense is getting better and that we have 4 of 5 OLineman back and that we are getting Fournette.

23-30 for 170 yards would have been a Heisman performance compared to what we saw yesterday.

You're shocked he looked like an 18 year old true freshmen playing against a top 10 defense in his first start, with no offseason to prepare?

Except that he did the complete opposite. Much of it was not his fault, however. Cameron did nothing play-wise that ever gave the young man some sense of confident participation.

This is common for a young QB. The mental part of the game will come with more repetition.

I'd be more concerned about his arm. He doesn't seem to have a lot of zip or accuracy. Maybe that will improve with some coaching and more reps also.

This CC bashing has got to stop. Did you not see the plethora of short, 'confidence gaining' passes in the back half of the game
