Want it easily accessible (in bedroom or bedroom closet) in case it's ever needed, but also safe from the nieces, nephews, and future little BS's.

In the corner of your bed room by your bed. Lock said bed room when you have company.

I keep mine in the corner near my bed condition 1. If I had kids I'd probably keep it condition 3.

I keep mine in my safe with all my other guns. When I'm home I keep the key in the safe where it's unlocked. When I leave or there's people at my house I lock it and hide the key.

What if you're awaken at night with someone already in your room?

I've been trying to figure out having some kind of sleeve made to hang it either on a post or on the side. I want it where I can pull it out easily- or a least a chance at doing so.

If I wake up in the middle of the night with someone in my room, I feel like hand to hand combat would be a faster option than trying to pull a gun. There's not much I could do to help if there's someone already in my room. Oh yeah, and that's where I keep my shotgun. My pistol sleeps on my night stand.

Man I miss the days I used to feel like that too.

Think about it from the intruders pov. If you broke into someone's house and made it to their bedroom undetected and then they woke up a couple feet from you, you could probably shoot them before they had time to grab their gun. It's pretty much over with at that point. Now when you hear them breaking in, get the gun!
