I work downtown so every now and then if I'm bringing some heavy stuff up to my office I will park in the loading zone, make one trip upstairs and then come back down and move my car. This past week I actually left the car running with the flashers on and couldn't have been more than 5 minutes and I got a ticket. Nola tickets are really cheap ($20) so it's not a big deal but I was just wondering how to avoid this in the future. Is it illegal at all times to park in a loading zone? I thought this was what they are there for but maybe I'm just being naive.

Well you were unloading while parked in the loading zone. Know your zones.

I think you can do that as long as you have a commercial license plate.

I just looked and apparently it's a "Freight Zone", whatever the hell that means. I am assuming you need to have a commercial plate to park there at anytime. Oh well

What building do you work at? I might be able to get you off of it. I'm kind of a big deal.

...amateur move. Your flashers draw attention to anyone in the area who could potentially write you a ticket.

Do people think that there's some rule against giving a parking ticket to a car with its flashers on?

haha no I just found it pretty ballsy to give a ticket to a car that is still running. Like I said it's only $20 so I am not really worried about it. I just found it interesting

Then get back to work and get a cart next time. You gotta have a commercial license plate to park in a loading zone until 6PM Use my parking garage. I need the money.
