Dude was impressive in his first outing. I am wondering about his deliberate passing motion - it is not that quick, but he sure puts great touch and air under the ball.

Perhaps it was just such a contrast to Mett?

I assume he will be fine? Maybe Cam got him to modify a bit?

I love AJ. I've followed him since his Jr year in HS over in GA. I am just asking a question.

Whatever you think of the motion, it doesn't matter: check out the speed of his release.

the release is sweet, no doubt...but the extra .2-.4 seconds for a DB to make a break on a pass, especially one with a soft touch and air under it, can get a QB in a lot of trouble. I hope that concern does not turn out to be warranted, but you get my general point.

You're listening but not understanding. The speed of his release is quick.

Don't you think Cam is aware of this? Surely he is aware of all the factors involved in completing passes and has been working on the important points all this year.......

I don't think he has a poor arm motion at all. He could probably be a little quicker, but it's not like we're looking at someone who throws the ball like Tebow or Vince Young. He's already got the touch that Mettemberger never had. Whether he'll have as much success in his LSU career, who knows?

Arm motion is better than Rivers, who's brother has one of the worst I've ever seen, and he's pretty good in the NFL...

Thanks, now all I will be doing is looking at the arm motion the whole game.

Are you basing this on practices that you've seen or the Arkansas game? If the latter, I suspect he was being very careful with the ball (hell, he was starting from the 1 yard line). I wouldn't worry too much based on the small sample size to date ... if he displays the same deliberate motion today, then we can look forward to a very competitive QB battle in the Spring/Fall.

I must have been watching a different game the day after thanksgiving, because the QB in that game had a quick, compact release...

When you think about it, that is ridiculous.
