Sumlin is extremely over-rated. Solid offenses and he has NEVER had a decent defense. Ags screwed up in giving him that big raise and extension.

I agree. Let him show something without Manziel before rewarding him.

And his defense is terrible. Hasn't made any adjustments.

And the onside kick was embarrassing. Not prepared at all.

Im going to tell you right now. I dont know what will happen tomorrow although I certainly hope we beat the crap out of Iowa, but Im so glad that we didnt line up against Duke . Not that I dont think we are a better team, I just believe we would be just like the Aggies and not ready to play, thinking they are a basketball school, yada, yada, yada. but Im telling you Cutcliffe got them boys ready to play and Im afraid we would not have been ready to play these guys either.

Especially w/o a tested QB. It probably would have been unpleasant...

They are going to be better for it on offense 2 years after Manziel leaves and better on defense as they start getting the recruits that they couldn't pull while being in the Big 12.

I hear ya, but our defense doesn't get bent over like this in a hundred years.

That's exactly what Im thinking Quailhunter. I have no doubt in my mind that we are a better team than Duke but I truly believe that we were a whole lot better than Ole Miss and Arky yet in those games for whatever reason we just werent ready to play. Im afraid we would have tried to sleepwalk thru a game with Duke and find ourselves in a heap of trouble.

Manziel is to Sumlin as Favre was to Hallman.

It's way too early to judge Sumlin- however he has been recruiting very well- better then any recent Aggie coaches. He has A&M going in the right direction.

People don't realize that Duke held FSU scoreless in the first quarter. This gave many people hope that FSU is weak and now TAMU is getting crushed.

the timing to get his huge contract was perfect for him. enter the SEC, win 10 games with a qb he didn't recruit, tejas needing a coach and his recruiting class is very good. the aggy admin., used to mediocrity and financial problems in the athletic dept (the had to borrow money from the university) and spending tons of dollars on a stadium renovation was desparate to keep the coach that was credited with a great season in the SEC. alumni dollars are rolling in and they want it to continue.

i think he's a fairly good coach but certainly not worth 5 mil per year. the ags are gonna find themselves really ponying up in the future if he doesn't improve.

They are stinking up the Chicken Bowl right now AGAINST DUKE!!!! Hoping Speedy is watching that offense WITH JM.... No defense whatsoever.

Sure hope Anthony Jennings can do a good job tomorrow!

Yeah I don't know why it's assumed aTm wasn't ready to play. Duke is a good team and aTm has a bad defense. It's that simple.
