Awesome movie! Are the movies that follow this one such as Hannibal and Hannibal rising as good as this one?

No, the two follow films are pretty good. I like Hannibal more than the majoiry of folks, it's not as bad as most make it sound.

Red Dragon is solid, and I didn't even care to watch Hannibal Rising.

Red dragon and the silence of the lambs are the only ones worth watching. Both are amazing!

How does one get this far in life and haven't seen Silence of the Lambs until the second to last day of 2013?

Hello, Clarice.

You know what you look like to me, with your good bag and your cheap shoes? You look like a rube. A well-scrubbed, hustling rube with a little taste. Good nutrition has given you some length of bone, but you're not more than one generation from poor white trash, are you, Agent Starling? And that accent you've tried so desperately to shed? Pure West Virginia. What's your father, dear? Is he a coal miner? Does he stink of the lamp? You know how quickly the boys found you … all those tedious sticky fumblings in the back seats of cars … while you could only dream of getting out … getting anywhere … getting all the way to the F...B...I...

I disagree. I think Red Dragon is a fantastic film. Hannibal is underrated, but definitely not in the same league as SotL.

Hannibal Rising was pretty bad, but you do get to see Jimmy McNulty speak with a great German accent, so there's that.

Great dialogue, but that line did not even remotely apply to Jodie Foster's Clarice. It's always stuck out like a sore thumb to me. Jodie Foster is tiny, and with his high-powered perception, Lecter never would have said that about her. They even made a point of how tiny she was by surrounding her with tall male officers in at least one scene. That passage was drawn from the book, but it's heavily modified, yet that line is verbatim. Strange.

The TV show "Hannibal" is FANTASTIC.

I think there were only 13 episodes in the first season.

Season two starts early next year.

The lack of Jodie Foster in Hannibal is a turn-off for me. I hate it when they just replace actors but keep the character.

Red Dragon is pretty good. It's not as high of cinematic quality as SOTL, but a pretty good story. Voldemort's in it, fwiw.

I liked Moore's Clarice in Hannibal, she was a seasoned agent at that point in her career. She was confident and tougher than the student Foster's Clarice was.

This doesn't make it better the Silence of the Lambs, I just prefer the Clarice from Hannibal.

Yeah, but I still think Foster could've pulled it off better. I just couldn't get over the new Clarice the entire movie
