U.S. Chamber of Commerce - $50 million to fight Tea Party.

Before you re-up with the C of C, make sure you know exactly where they stand and who they support. The spread of Liberalism is slow and relentless - almost imperceptible - and shows up in unlikely places everyday. The Camel has stuck his nose under the tent. Move over, AARP.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is ready to take on the tea party in 2014 Senate primaries and elections with a deep-pocketed boost of establishment and business Republican candidates.

quote:

Hard-right candidates' blunders are perceived to have cost the GOP five Senate seats in recent years, The Hill reported.

Republicans, for example, lost Senate elections in Indiana and Missouri after conservative candidates made controversial comments about abortion and rape that hurt their support, particularly among women.

Blame liberalism if you want, but it would appear the CoC is doing this on the behest of Republicans, for the sake of the Republican party.

And what pray tell led you to believe the hierarchy of the Republican party are not liberals?

They are not liberals in the sense that Reid is a liberal.

They are greedy politicians that want big govt, just a different flavor.

It's time for some folks to stop assuming the Republicans should be on our side but aren't because of "infiltration".

And therein lies the problem. The Republican Party, as we know it today, needs a drastic overhaul.

Those businesses that depend on big government, don't want small government people in charge.

Years of paying lobbyist millions to get favorable rules written would be wasted.

There are quite a few RINOS (Republicans In Name Only)in the Senate and the House and the GOP is just fine and dandy with it. There is Democrat and Democrat lite in today's politics. That is why the GOP hates the tea party and libertarians. They actually want the GOP to adhere to their small government platform. This makes them persona non grata with the GOP establishment.

The Establishment, liberal or otherwise, has a tendency to be fat and happy. These people don't like it when anybody tries to rock the boat, because they're inside the boat.

This has many parallels to the Phil Robertson/A&E flap. The CC thinks it's bullet proof, but let the truth be know that it's mere existence depends on dues paying members who vote with their dollars. Maybe the CC needs to be reminded of that.

Mr. Reed, a longtime Republican Party official who managed Bob Dole’s 1996 presidential campaign, will serve as the Chamber’s overall national political strategist.

This is the ole boy refered to in the article. What's the matter with these asshats? Damn it.

The civil war will be nice to watch but the CoC will win. They have the money and the Koch brothers realize that they can't always control tea party.

If the Tea Party had any guts they would form their own party but they are too scared and quite honestly not smart enough.

True conservatism isn't well represented by republicans. They are, to conservatives, the (far) lesser of two evils.

Granted, Todd Akin & Co. were not skilled enough.

But, neither do you win by going anti-Tea Party and having them sit out the election or go 3rd party.

This is trying to cure stupidity with more stupidity.

I agree with this. What's disconcerting is that the far left is succeeding in make conservatism (via the MSM) unfashionable - or Politically incorrect. Liberals will boast about this. Upon closer inspection, it's apparent that the MSM media is bed with them, further softening the minds of the average American to accept the notion that nothing is wrong and anything is ok (aka: Anarchy) so they can sell more goods and services for their advertisers. The Government, through entitlement programs, throws money into they hands of impressionable viewers and the advertisers simply whisk it away. Literally taking candy from intellectual babies.

Like when the GOP changed the rules after the fact to try and screw Ron Paul out of the delegates he rightfully won. But then got mad when all of the Libertarian leaning Republicans that like Ron Paul either voted third party or stayed home in the last election. You can't have your cake and eat it too. The GOP should be bringing these folks into the fold not marginalizing them.

The traditional Rep party is the US COC. It's all about making it easier to make big money. The RINOS spout just enough conservative rhetoric to hopefully gather just enough votes to win a majority.
