They have a ton of young talent on both sides of the ball. Coaches suck, management suck, QBs choke. I say scrap the coaching staff, trade away your highest paid player, and get a ton of draft picks.

ETA: I'm not a cowboys fan at all.

I'm not seeing a ton of "young" talent. I'm seeing a lot of aging Vets.

Dallas window of opportunity was slammed SHUT last evening.

Whatever Jerry wants, which means they stay in mediocrity for years to come

Stop telling themselves:

and go get a real GM so they can make that lie a reality.

They are doomed until Jerry gives up control which will never happen. All his underlings tell him how great he is and suck his cock.

1) fire the GM
2) fire the coach
3) hire new GM
4) let new GM hire new coach
5) give new GM and new coach cattle prods to use on Jerry any time he tries to get involved in football

they do not have tons of talent on both sides. they have about 5 legit players. Tyron Smith, Dez, Murray, Lee, Hatcher

Jerry Jones needs to step away as GM first of all but I don't see that happening.

they might make other minor changes to grab a few headlines but it really shouldn't matter.

I'm not much of an NFL fan so someone please enlighten me. I constantly see people say that Jerry Jones is the problem. I know he's the owner and is far more involved in the organization than any other owner, but what exactly is he/does he do wrong?

Does he make decisions on who they will draft? Does he make roster decisions? I guess I'm not familiar enough with how NFL teams are run to know what exactly he's doing to be the root cause of their issues. Like, what would getting a new owner do to make the cowboys better?

Nothing.

They are the most entertaining mediocre team in the NFL.

They have the largest fanbase in the NFL and the general public loves to hate them and talk about them ad nauseum.

Short of getting rid of the GM (which should happen but won't) trade Romo to a team that needs a QB. He would bring in multiple high picks. Cowboys are not winning jack as is right now. Plus Romo deserves better than the Cowboys at this point. Lock up Tyron Smith and then rebuild both lines.

No one is trading "multiple high picks" for Romo and that contract.

We need to move Ware back to OLB. Putting his hand on the ground coupled with injuries caused his worst season by far.

He is the definition of a micromanager.

Jerry has always been a great businessman, he turned the cowboys into the number one franchise in the NFL in a matter of 5 years. He however is about as bad of a GM as one can be after having won 3 Superbowls.

As GM he is responsible for all coaching personnel and player personnel.

This means he hires the assistant coaches, Head coach typically has little input. He drafts the players, head coach has more involvement as far as they can say how they would fit in their system, but it is always Jerry who pulls the trigger.

In the past Jerry has shown some flexibility allowing head coaches hire their own assistants, bring in their own players (mostly this was just Bill Parcells), but this is few and far between.
