As an interesting way of visualizing the Division I head coaching changes, the list below shows the changes in terms of the subsequent domino effects, if any, of each hire.

The list is arranged alphabetically by the "first domino" of each series, and grouped by the conference of the first domino (FBS AQ, FBS Non-AQ, FCS).

Open jobs are in bold, and FCS jobs are in italics. A "#" symbol indicates the first domino lost its coach to the NFL (Texans/ Penn State).

I will update this list periodically as the offseason progresses.

No doubt. There ain't shite going on in CFB, and even a school like Texas may not end up causing that big of a domino effect if they hire a coach from Baylor or Vandy.

The fun part is going to be the NFL openings.

I thought it was pretty interesting. Who would've guessed that North Carolina loses their OC because Lane Kiffin got fired?

How old are you? When I'm off of work for two weeks my brain gets restless and ends up with a late-night barrage of stuff like this (mostly offline).

When did Eastern Illinois become FBS and when did BG join a Big 6 Conference?

It didn't. That's why it's in italics. The initial coaching move was an FBS position which created a domino effect down to EIU.

Wake Forest - hired Dave Clawson (Bowling Green, Head Coach)
.Bowling Green - hired Dino Babers (Eastern Illinois, Head Coach)
..Eastern Illinois - currently open

One item of note, Georgia Southern is moving to FBS next season. So that job doesn't need to be italicized.

Just wait till Brian Kelly bolts for Detroit and you have ND and Texas picking the market in the same year. could get interesting.

I think that's a terrible idea. They are one of the top FCS programs. It's a money move, and an unfortunate one at that.

I don't disagree. Also, Appalachian State got shitty just in time for their move to the Sunbelt next year along with Georgia Southern.

Well, the coaching changes cycle is not quite closed, but bump due to board closing soon. I really thought Texas was going to cause a bigger chain reaction, but they ended up hiring Louisville's coach instead of Alabama's.
