Traditional marriage also didn't end in divorce and also didn't include interracial marriage. You want to go back there?

And no I do not have the right to marry the person I fall in love with and you and LSURussian can argue until you're blue in the face because in actuality, by the time you're blue in the face there will be same sex marriage in all 57 states. usa:

You're on the wrong side of history. You're ignorant. You're bigoted And you're flat out wrong.

Plus this Neanderthal way of thinking is costing the GOP elections. But fear not, before you die, again, in all 57 states same sex marriage, and then, then I and many former Republicans like me can vote for the GOP once again and FINALLY they'll win another election.

Gotta love the mental gymnastics "Christians" with homosexual tendencies go through to justify their behavior.

ETA: The Church has a long way to go with regards to its ability to "speak the truth in love" and avoid placing a special emphasis on the sin of homosexuality over any other sin. Having said that, we are being asked to include and accept as if the behavior is normal.

All in all, its activism by judicial decree or activist legislation. Only one state has passed it by a vote of the people. One.

He went to ULM because it was slightly more progressive than Ouchita.

More likely because he couldn't get into LSU.

Sucks that his family is hard line christian, not the best place to be gay.

This is assuming that everything he said is true which is a big assumption. Gays have been known to lie to further their cause or appear as victims.

Wait, he only realized that he was gay at 13?!

You didn't read the article. He said he was attracted to other boys since he was 8, realized he was gay around 13, but then decided to be straight cause his church told him he will go to hell if he was gay. Until he lost his faith at 16 and started getting with other dudes.

Once again, I know you are a hard line Christian and have your beliefs but your doubt, suspicion and mocking only make you look vicious and petty. I'm sure it's pretty tough being gay in rural Louisiana. This guy is writing an article about his experiences and it isn't an attack on the church or anybody else. There isn't anything in the article that seems exaggerated and I don't know what it would accomplish if he did. He's just telling his story. What's the harm in it?

I did read the article. If his parents did to him what he wrote, that's horrible and no parents should treat their kids this way. But we only have one side of the story and people have been known to exaggerate.

What is meant by this? Do you mean it's run down like Grambling or the number of African Americans attending ULM
Either way you're wrong and stupid.

This is what I get for assuming you would actually look up due process before discussing these matters with me again. You're uninformed and unprepared to discuss this intelligently. Do some reading and chat with me some other time.

Your standard retort is to say uninformed or unintelligent, which really is admitting that you're a condescending prick and can't intelligently in an informed manner add anything further to discussion.

Well, he can do that, you see, because he has VB as his wingman to swoop in and make ad hominen attacks whenever a substantive discussion is imminent. Typical.

From a rights perspective, I don't believe it's judgmental, bigoted or harkening in any way to the thought process of a neanderthal to hold the view that same sex unions should not hold the same staus as a male/female "marriage" and that "marriage" is a union of a male and a female, sanctified by the blessings of God. Further, if two females want to rub one out against each other or two men want to shove their tongues up each other's a-hole, that's their buiness. If they want to create a legal partnership where they can be imbued with legal protections for property, then by all means, that should be supported by all. But calling it marriage? Sorry, it isn't. I'll never accept it as such and liberal judges and elected representatives legislating it into existence without a vote of the citizens of a state is not going to suddenly or ever change the minds of millions who feel, rightly, that it's a flank attack against morals and the rights of the religious.

Quit lying. Maine, Maryland, and Washington all upheld or legalized gay marriage by vote. You could also include Minnesota as they rejected a gay marriage ban by popular vote which allowed the legislature to legalize it.

When you want to deny citizens their human and constitutionally protected rights and/or broadcast insults to them stating that what is natural to them is unnatural and sinful, then resistance, mockery, and condescension should be expected in return. It is unrealistic to expect that view to be legitimized as being in any way equivalent to that which calls for government recognition and protection of rights.
