Which just means he made all district.

Btw, when was the last time WM didn't have a single defensive player named? I honestly can't remember that happening the last 20 years.

At LB, DeAndre Darville is listed as both All State and Honorable Mention. Which is it?

Too bad Deandre Darville is not 6' 1'. He would be in one of those All American games. Hope he gets to play somewhere.

Hey, not bad they can claim he was a Top 8 WR in LA AAAAA football.

Just still not as good as #1 in LA AAAAA, #1 in LA high school football and #1 in the country at WR.

Sam Mills was 5'9". Went to Montclair St. Played in USFL before the Saints. Played in 4 Pro Bowls.

If Darville is good enough at 5'9", the Chief will recruit him.

LSU commit William Clapp 2 time All State selection. Think this kid could wind up anywhere along the O Line even tackle

My wife taught the kid(Charlie Matthews) from Airline in elementary school. He played next to O.J. Smith(Bama verbal) and had a monster year. He had a rough upbringing and plays with an edge. Hopefully he'll get some decent looks next year.[ LINK

Deandre is a very good player, instinctive, tough and strong as an ox, but doesn't have the foot speed like Mills had.
He'll play somewhere, though.

Good story on Matthews. So he was better than OJ Smith on his own DL this season?

I bet he will get some good looks next year then, how are his grades?

He had a better year statistically than Smith...smith took a lot of double teams and Charlie made them pay. He had 22 TFL and 7 sacks. He was listed at 6'1 275# this year. His grades shouldn't be a problem as far as I know. Here's some video on him. LINK

He seems to be much quicker and able to disengage off blockers much better than OJ Smith. I guess OJ Smith is just going to Bama to be another stand up clog the middle NG though.

Well, that would make sense. Thanks for clearing that up for me. Totally forgot Neville was 4A.

Yep...OJ fits Bama's scheme as a DT in a 3-4 defense. Charlie played FB/RB back in middle school...just outgrew the position. Not sure if he's got LSU talent, but he will get some offers.
