Don't want anything too expensive like ruffinos or anything cheap like rotolos.
Anybody got opinions on IPO downtown? Loved beausoleil the last time I asked the FB for somewhere with specific criteria

I will always recommend IPO because on the times it's been good, it's been fantastic. Unfortunately, it has been hit or miss since it's been open but still.. It's one of the best options you'll find. Very cool atmosphere, food options you won't find anywhere else, and Varnadoe leading the kitchen now.
There's a few items I wouldn't necessarily order again, but the new menu blows the old menu out of the water.
I recommend the pork on pork, the pimento cheese, the egg rolls (holy hell amazing), and the escargot special if they are running it.
Their grits and Grillades are outstanding too.
Stay away from the truffle pasta.

Even if the reviews were mixed, are there really many places competing with what they're doing? Not really.
Go check it out

They are owned by the same people who run Restaurant IPO, correct?

IPO is owned by the people who own IPO?
Confused.
Assuming you might have meant The Office, yes they are owned by the same people but don't let that deter you if you're not an Office fan. The IPO chef is legit and the food is very good.. As is the atmosphere.
Honestly, I think The Office is a really appealing venue as well; the patrons who used to flock there just ruined that reputation. The space itself is pretty.

I'm with LL on everything she said about IPO.

I could be mixing up the two. Restaurant IPO & Breakroom IPO are two separate things, correct?
Restaurant IPO is what LL is referring to.
Breakroom AT IPO is just the renaming of "The Office"

Byronz for a good change of pace

Gotcha, I went to Restaurant IPO at the beginning of the summer [before the new chef was introduced] and was left disappointed. Hopefully the new menu will bring some energy. The atmosphere of the place isn't bad at all.

Same question as OP but with little kids. Anything entertaining? Crazy crap on the walls? Lots of screaming and visual simulation?

Just me and Ms NoMBP
Sounds like I should hit up IPO (meant restaurant IPO). We love to try new places and things to eat. I guess it was you LL who gave it a thumbs up a while back when I heard about the new chef

Omi, great Chinese food, very casual, kid friendly, cheap, get the eggplant with garlic sauce

Eggplant with garlic sauce is the best thing at OMI
