I've been to many games during the teams tenure here in NO. During the CP3 era there was pretty good energy in the arena, but only late in the season and during the playoff runs.

Last night at the game, it was a pretty full crowd, but filled with a bunch of casual bball fans.

The arena was fairly quiet last night until the third quarter when the Saints pro bowl players were announced. The cheers at that point during a timeout were the loudest of the night. It was pretty sad IMO. So I just wonder what if would take or if it's possible for N.O. and the surrounding area to be entrenched into this bball team and be excited about them on a consistent basis.

overlooked last night was the fact that Ben Grubbs made the Pro Bowl. :giantfrickingcasty:

We had good crowds early in season the year after our playoff run. We ended up sucking and ruining our momentum.

Last night was a comfortable game in which we were double figure lead !majority of game. I really get into games and I even was more relaxed than normal. People will come if a can put it together

I think the OP means a true passion for the team, not attendence. The answer is not for decades, when the bball IQ will increase.

I think we are moving in the right direction. The new direction of the team will go a very long way. AD will go even further. As great as CP3 was with NOLA, this kid will be that X10. He is larger than life, and will captivate the market. This is only his second season. By the end of his 3rd season, he will have this town lapping it up.

Of course winning goes a long way, and this team really isn't far off. We ship out the sandy vagina and free up those dollars, find a decent 5, and voila! We are winners.

PLAYOFFS

Place was crazy when we played Lakers and Spurs back when CP3, D West and Tyson Chandler were leading the way.

Consistency is the answer here. Back to back 50+ wins per season with a couple top 4 seeds will have the place rocking. AD in his 4th/5th year could be magical.

Doubtful we make the playoffs this year especially with our end of year schedule. Next year, we better make the playoffs but the excitement still will not hit until late in the year.

I think the OP is missing some criteria for what support is, who determines the fandom of the ticket purchasers, etc.

It would be a hell of a lot easier if I could actually get ticket info on their website for season tix. They apparently don't have any ticket plans left.

Develop a consistent winner that occasionally makes serious noise in the playoffs or actually contends for a title, and the fans will come.

I doubt you'll ever see consistent sellouts during the early part of the season. But N.O. is not unusual in that regard.

I think we are just spoiled with the atmosphere of a Saints and LSU home game. I attended the Pels' sold out game in LA vs the Clippers and found the crowd to be quiet and bored. Thought the same when I attended the Lakers/Clippers opening night, as well as the USC/Stanford football game.

The arena is always at its loudest whenever they show Saints players in attendance on the video board.
