@McCormackJohn Nope. Believe they've said before they'll only release month-by-month, meaning we won't know how many gain coverage on Jan. 1

Oh, wait..

.@GayPatriot @sarahkliff HHS still not releasing #Obamacare enrollment numbers; most of these are Medicaid.

Transparency, it's awesome, isn't it?

So they only released the website visits #s to make it look good?

Those numbers were pitiful anyways. Enrollment was probably less than 150k of all of those.

Can somebody up in here give the number of people who are now covered as of Jan. 1 if they go to the hospital on Jan. 2?

It really is a huge POS. How anybody can defend it is beyond me. It goes beyond stupidity. It's complete denial. Sure, there may be a few folks that benefit, but most are getting screwed and you will end up with more people OFF insurance than added. And those losing it will be middle class workers.

Now you're getting warm. It WAS INTENDED to CRUSH the middle class into government dependency. Take away discretionary income and make them (us) dependent upon the 'all mighty' government. It had nothing to do w/ helping insure people or allow access to "healthcare", which they (indigent) already had. The Marxists are in control and they control EVERYTHING (please see IRS intimidation thru NSA spying)! The baby boomers didn't fight the pinko commie libs for control in the 60's. They sat back and allowed them to infiltrate everything possible. Thru the pillars of deceit; Government, Science, Media, and Academia, they've successfully indoctrinated/brainwashed and dumbed down the USA to the point it elected an anti capitalist/Marxist disciple hell bent on the "fundamental transformation of the United States". Well done commies !

I read an article today that was touting all the "benefits" of Obamacare, and the author(s) were so proud that family OOP expenses were capped at $12,700/year. That was so wonderful! Nobody was going to lose everything they owned if they got sick!

What they downplayed was that this $12,700 OOP (bad enough in itself) was in addition to the cost of the premiums, which are sky-high. A bronze plan for a family of 4 is nearly $700/mo, or 8400/year, so a serious illness will cost that family $21,100.

I don't know many middle class families that can shell out $21K a year without significant hardship. God help them if the illness is long-term. $21K every year, they'd be ruined.

But I guess that's what this is all about: Bring those who've made their way to firm footing down to the level of those who haven't. Whatever you do, don't let them enjoy the fruits of their labor.

Unfortunately you are absolutely correct. And the sad part is that the Amerikan people will scream for gov't healthcare after this debacle implodes. If you aren't seeing your healthcare get cancelled, you are seeing increases in premiums that will only continue to rise. Families will not be able to pay these premiums, they will scream for answers, the gov't will step in with single payer. At that point, we are fricked! And all these people screaming for single-payer, they will scream the loudest when they are told themselves or a family member has to wait for treatment.

While I suspect that was the goal after an unsatisfactory 10 years under Obamacare, this thing has been such a spectacular failure that I believe that the public has been turned off to government healthcare for a generation at least.

I hope you are correct, however, I can't get past the fact that 50% of the country is in support of Hillary if she ran today. 50% in this country don't pay taxes. I'm fearful that we have reached the point where more people are in the wagon than there are pulling. If so, it doesn't matter what happens, we will continue in the wrong direction.

No reason to fear. Lay your fears aside. You are smack, dab in the middle of more in the wagon than pulling.

And I'm curious what the liberals will think the outcome will be of this?

Fox News said 1.5 million enrolled as of yesterday.

They were talking about HUM stock being up 50% this year, and it could do the same again b/c of the ACA.

re: Obamacare stats released

From The Motley Fool financial website:

"It's been an unbelievably ugly start for Obamacare . . . Between the countless technical glitches associated with Healthcare.gov, and a number of ongoing state-run health exchange issues, less than 365,000 people had fully enrolled for health insurance through the first two months of the health marketplaces being open.

But are expectations now so low that they're primed to be toppled? That very well could be the case!

Obamacare enrollments surge
According to statistics from The Washington Post, last-minute sign-ups for ACA Dec. 24 coverage surged in 3 states. California estimated that 27,000 people fully enrolled for insurance on Monday, which follows 29,000 sign-ups the prior Friday. California had averaged 15,000 signups per day over the previous week.

Washington state estimates that between Friday and Monday roughly 20,000 people fully enrolled for health insurance.

Finally, New York estimated that it had roughly 20,000 people sign up on Monday.

Although these 3 states (all state-run) are a limited subset of data leading into Jan. 1 coverage, it could portend that enrollments handily outpaced significantly lowered expectations.

California had enrolled 107,087 people by the end of November. Based on the above estimates, which include Friday, Monday, and a previous week of 15,000 signups per day, it would be conservative to estimate that California signed up 130,000 people in just the past week alone."
