I realized that although I'm working in Texas but still living in Louisiana that if I don't. Actually establish a residency in Texas then taxes are going to kick my arse.
So what is the minimum I can do to establish residency. I have a place I can use as a place of residence.
I have to get a Texas license ? And register my vehicle?
And I have to do all this before JanuAry 1st.
Any advice?

This is something you should have thought about last December 27th, not THIS December 27th if you're talking about the 2013 tax year.

One of the best decisions you'll ever make. Texas is superior to all other states in pretty much every way.

Louisiana is going to come looking for their money in about one to two years.

Good luck!

Property taxes suck in Texas. Other than that, yes.
