Noticed most of my knives are pretty dull. I have a basic non electric one, but doesn't seem to do the trick. Looking for something that does straight edge and serrated. Would like some input on something I'm not familiar with. Thanks

Not electric, but I use a sharpening stone at home.

I have had a Chef's Choice for many years. At the rate people borrow it from me, it must do a pretty good job.

I have a Chef's Choice also. It works well, but most times you don't need an electric unless you've let your blades get very dull.

I got one of these Smith's knife sharpeners and have hardly used the Chef's Choice since. I use the sharpening steel every time before I cut, and this about every third time. Knives stay sharp!
