The board has always recommended great places to dine in NOLA and am looking for a place on 1/3/2014 after a Pelicans game, around 10PM or a bit later. My wife and I will be bringing our son and his girlfriend so looking for a casual, more hip place with good drinks, as well. Any recs appreciated!

Last few dining places attended were:
Borgne
Lucky Rooster
Cafe Giovani
Dickie Brennan's
Coquette

ETA -- 12/30/2013
Following up on on where we decided to eat:

Started out early at Bacchanal for a cheese plate and relaxing according and acoustic guitar duo performing upstairs. Went to Pel's game and had a 10PM seating at ROOT. Had a Zombie Apocolypse rum drink which was very good. Talked with the young man who is in charge of the curing of all the meats. Very informative and willing to recommend favorites and what he fealt were their better offerings.

Started dinner with the chicken liver parfait, beef heart pate', Merguez Moroccan style sausage and duck prosciutto. Next up was the fried chicken wing offering whose name escapes me. So far, the presentation and flavors were incredible, especially the beef heart and duck.

Our main courses were the cohiba smoked scallops served in a cigar box, lacquered duck, grilled lamb loin dish and a noodle broth dish. All were exceptionally presented and taste tantilizing. I would definitely recommend this as a place to go to as the service was impeccable, but not stuffy, and very entertaining as a change to "normal" offerings of food. Our waiter was extremely versed in the menu, as were all other servers we came in contact with. Get there early and have a specialty drink at the bar!!

That late (post-game) will limit choices. Root is open for dinner late, and its fairly close to the arena, so it might be a good choice.

Thanks for recommendation. I was looking at their menu prior to seeing your post. May check it out.

Root is a good choice for a late night spot.

Domenica would be a good choice too. Need to check on how late they seat.
