Grandpaw gave me some old guns

I don't know the particulars, but those are cool as hell....I am jealous! What a great gift from your gramps....

Unless made by a premiere gun maker those old hammer action doubles dont carry much value especially if the barrels have been cut down. You'll likely spend more to fix it than it will ever be worth. May be best to keep it as a conversation piece..

the barrel exploded so they cut it off and soldiered along the rail so I'm sure it isn't worth anything but it would be cool if it worked.
The br 303 works and the bolt/action was just referbushed so I may bring it to the range tomorrow and if it shoots true, I'll hopefully get to shoot a deer with it this season

I have one of those side by sides. Dated 1897. Mine will shoot, but was told not to unless I hand load shells. The gun can't handle high pressure rounds that are made today. Another thing about them is that the barrels are Damascus steel. They were sold by the millions and they were made by many small different gun shops at the time. Value is around $350 for one that works.

The one I have came from my FIL that was his Grandpaws. It has a 32" barrel.

I haven't measured the modified barrel but I know it's legal. it looks to be 20-something inches
If mine is an 1897 model, that would be cool. I'm assuming it's about that old if it was handed down to my Grandpaw who is in his 80's

The first one is an old Enfield .303 military to sport conversion and if I had to guess possibly a MK2 or MK4.

Wick, I wouldn't even try to shoot it. The barrels are paper thin.

FIL told me that his grandpaw put just about all the food on the table year round back in the day with that shotgun.
