Which athletes, across all sports, have played with a style that is/was completely their own? Or, in other words, complete the following sentence. We'll never see anybody else play like ______.

I'll start the show, and I'll quote Pete Sampras in support of my nomination.

quote:

"Mcenroe was so unique in the way he hit the ball. In the way that he served, and the way he volleyed, it was all touch and just beautiful to watch. I can't see another player in 50 years to play like Mcenroe. You're just born like that. You're just born with the hands and the feel and the anticipation. And the way he glides around is something that I've never seen before and probably won't see [again] as long as I'm living."

And Arthur Ashe:

quote:

"Mcenroe was the most talented easily. Great hands. He can do things with his hands that the rest of us have to think about doing. He doesn't have to think. It's instinctive and automatic for him. He is someone you cannot copy."

Fail. Kobe is like the mirror image of him. A good answer would be someone like Randy Johnson or Muggsy Bogues.

Came to post him.

There has never been a deep threat like him.

Maybe throw in Lebron James and Megatron? Guys who are big/athletic/physical enough to play anywhere on the court and field.

Ron Artest in his prime. He always looked out of control, but he never was. Very unique player who had some great years.
