Matthew Harper-Parkway High School.
Also know that he is a powerlifter and he won 2nd in the
World Sub-Junior division in Killeen, Tx. He totaled
1, 752 lbs for the 3 lifts.(bench,squat, deadlift)
He started OT Soph, Jr. and switched to DT his Senior year.

Kid looks like a wrecking machine. Very strong and sheds blockers easily.

Matthews a beast made the transition from o line to d line because of team needs. He was a great offensive lineman. DEK is he getting any offers? And also #22 McKnight only a junior is an SEC caliber player.

No offers yet. He has been getting some info. from a few schools. He hasn't been aggressively sending highlight videos to schools untill now. I hope he gets a chance to play at the next level. I just wanted to see if the people who follow recruiting more than I do think he has D1 talent. He is definitely strong enough.

I think he's definetely got D1 talent. I think he projects better as an O lineman. I think that's more of a natural position

Not to hijack the thread, but McKnight is definitely the truth!

I could see Harper playing a 1-tech at the next level, but def not DE. Obviously has excellent strength.

I can't believe MCknight is not already on recruiting websites he's a guy with 4.4 speed with good size and good hands.

lol I kept looking at this and thinking "752 is terrible. Is there something about powerlifting rules I'm missing here?"

Somehow I missed the little 1 out front that made that 1,752

Eta, it was the space that threw me off

You can see he's very strong but a bit slow off the snap. He will need to work on his get off and learn to use his hands but he looks good overall though.

Meh he's okay, powerlifting is overrated when it comes to football... Jimbo Fisher said it best this morning. You have to be strong AND fast.

Pretty good total for that age. His strength does show itself on tape but like somebody else said, he needs to have a quicker first step. A good example would be Jozie Milton, somebody posted about him a month ago.

I think he will get offers from the smaller state schools. Not SEC caliber but not many players are.

As said above, he should be an OL prosp (read above that he had to switch because of team needs which is understandable). IMO he would not do well as a DL at the next level. He lets too many smaller OL get under him and he makes his moves close to the OL chest instead of extending and shedding. You could probably attribute that to him having a size advantage. I think he will get some Big 12?+? offers.
