I'm sure this will turn into a "bash the Astros" thread, but for those of you that actually keep up with the Astros how do you feel about the offseason? We knew this wouldn't be an over night rebuild and I think we are closer to coming out of the other end than going into it.

The Astros aren't going to become a good team by having good offseasons. If they become a good team it will be by stockpiling young talent. And I think they are doing a good job of doing that.

Feldman

I saw this list of top Astros prospects the other day. Pretty impressive list. I think Lunhow is doing the right thing with this team.

Patience is a key for being an Astros fan right now. Currently though:

Several good adds, but not near enough on the Major League level.

I am willing to give them the time to rebuild. I think they are on the right track. Been an Astro fan since I can remember and will be forever no matter what but will be nice if this plan works out.

Oh look. LE in an Astros thread with his subtle hilarity.

Anyway, IMO, '13 was rock bottom. No where to
Go but up. I think an OF of Springer, Fowler, and Grossman (if he hits like he did in the 2nd half) isn't bad. MUCH better than last years opening day.

So is the bullpen. I'm not saying they won't be in last because the AL West is loaded right now, but they are definitely on the rise. I think correa will rake in Lancaster and end up in Corpus by years end.

Singleton will be in the bigs by July.

Singleton better open the season in the majors. At this point it's not about saving an extra year of service, it's about not pissing him off.

no shite. worst record in mlb for 3 straight years is certainly not overnight. AND there is still ABSOLUTLELY NO PROOF that it is actually a rebuild. sure, you get top picks when you are on the bottom and so people think it's a rebuild. and just because they pick up a coupla relief pitchers, one a retread is no proof to me ownership is serious about putting a good product on the field. Houston is NOT a small market but this dumb arse sure treats it like it is. can't even get the product on the tube locally. frick the astros.
