Suggestions for games similar to Dead Island

Love the open world, RPG elements, story, and first person. Does anyone have suggestions for similar games (not necessarily zombie-related)? They did a great job with those two - would love something similar. Would need to be on either 360 or Wii at this point.

Red Dead Redemption is a fun open world game and a pretty good story if you can get past John Marston's long winded dialogue.

All of these suggestions are great. Also give Fallout 3 and/or Fallout New Vegas a shot.

The only other "looter shooter" game is Borderlands, so look into that.

But seriously, you liked the gameplay of DI? It seemed like the same shite over and over to me. Can never get past the lighthouse without getting bored. . .after 4 tries.
