Tried to find this in search. Was in Academy a week ago and the guy selling guns was telling a customer Mississippi was doing away with muzzle loaders season and bolt action would be allowed. He thought La. Would probably follow Mississippi's rules. Stated a 4570 was a necked down 30-06.
Any info would be appreciated. Wanted a 35 Whelen. But walked after hearing this .

Normally I wouldn't trust anyone that says a 45-70 is a necked down 30-06 but,

I've heard next year MS is doing away with the muzzle loader season on private land. I think there will be a bow season that opens Oct 1 then gun season will run from nov to feb.

I have heard the same CC

It will apply only to private land though

I'm not sure if public will remain the same as it is now
