This was my 9th away game, and by far these were the worst fans I've been around. As far as football IQ went they didn't know shite. Ever play that went against them they thought was a penalty.

Fans also asked me "why isnt Reggie Bush playing today?" "What have the Saints ever won?" Dumb crap like that. You could tell most of them became fans this season. They made Atlanta fans look like a class act.

fwiw I've never had a single issue with Falcons fans in person in at least 8 games between New Orleans and Atlanta. It's just all the message board tough guys

Went to Atlanta a couple of years ago and my buddy got a beer poured on him as we left the stadium. The majority of the folks were cool, but that guy was a jackass

Went to the Falcons/Lions game with a buddy a few years ago. Lions fan in front of us was HAMMERED by 1:30 (about halfway thru the first quarter). Ended up falling/flipping over 2 rows tossing his beer on at least 3 people in the process. It was awesome

Honestly the average fan doesn't really know shite about football or the rest of the NFL.

I get that, but how do you know realize your division rival won a Super Bowl not that long ago. Every single other away game I've been to I discussed the Saints and the NFL with the guy sitting next to me. These clowns didn't even have any idea about their own damn team

Sure, but most forums, including this one, at least have knowledgable fans mixed in. This board has tons of idiots, along with other Saints forums, but it doesn't make up the majority of the fan base. However, I will say that we have some of the most spoiled fans though, and it's annoying. When I'm hearing people say that the Saints need to get rid of Brees I just want to knock their teeth in for being so stupid.

Their forum is really bad if you want to look. I'm sure they have good, smart fans, but I haven't seen a lot of it. They seem to not know much about other teams. Their hatred for New Orleans is insane as well.

The only reason any of that bothers you is because saints lost. Fans are the same everywhere you go. Trust met there are quite a few saints fans that have ruined many visiting fans experience in New Orleans. It's just who you encounter where you go. All fan bases are the same. They all have good and they all have bad. And if you think all saints fans are knowledgeable you haven't seen many. The things I hear some say during a game, mostly women, are insane. Heard a woman the yesterday say we should have went for two after we scored since we had a new kicker. Her husband agreed.

I couldn't believe the things I heard after the game yesterday.

Almost fought a bus boy and server at some
Bar in Nola. They kept saying how we need to get rid of Brees. One actually suggested bringing in Michael Vick.

We could have won and I would have felt the exact same way. I went to the game where the Saints lost in Tampa years back and those fans were pleasant for the most part. All I'm saying is that it's hard to spend a weekend in a city and not meet one knowledge person to discuss the game with.

And what I'm telling you is it's the same in every city, even here. Just depends on who you encounter. Just bad luck on your part.

Absolutely. Some good, some bad with every fanbase.... More than likely just a bunch of idiot bandwagoners with a rudimentary need standing of football. And that most certainly includes our fans.

I went to college and lived in Charlotte during the early 2000's. For the most part, their fan base is absolutely clueless when it comes to talking football. To them football Sunday is a social/family event. It's a town full of bankers as that was the boom in the late 80's/early 90's that allowed them to score BBALL and football teams. Most of the population that can afford season tickets are from further up north and are too busy to follow football religiously.

Every Carolina fan I talked to at the game yesterday was extremely nice to me and my gal. We didn't come across a single a-hole this entire weekend. I'm really enjoying my trip here even with the loss yesterday. Nice city and nice people, we will come back one day.
