What do y'all put in yours? This year I'm using the following:

Crushed peppermint
Crushed mint Oreos
Red and green M&M minis
Red and green sugar specs

I'm also going to do a batch with a dark chocolate base layer.

Pics to follow if anyone cares , making some now.

I just got some from a friend, it was dark chocolate with peppermint extract, hardened in fridge. then white chocolate infused with peppermint extract. some sort of green/red sugar decoration on top. pretty good.

Not much to it.

Step 1: Get all your ingredients.

Step 2: Melt almond bark and stir it up. I used the microwave.

Step 3: Add the crushed peppermint. I bought pre-crushed because I was feeling lazy. Stir them in.

Step 4: Add the crushed Oreos (I did do this myself :lol), and stir them in.

Step 5: Add the sugar specs and M&M minis.

Step 6: Put mixture in muffin pan. I used half the package of bark to make enough to put 2 spoonfuls in each opening.

Step 7: Refrigerate until the bark is hard again. Then place the pan upside down over a layer of paper towels (or whatever you feel like using), then tap the pan to get the bark out. Here is the finished product.

I've used the same recipe except the muffin pan. I take a flat pan and put wax paper on it. I then just pour the mixture into the wax paper. After it chills overnight in the fridge, I break it into pieces like peanut brittle.

I usually do that, decided to switch it up this year just to see how it worked.

I have made peppermint bark the past two years, but this year my plan was to make saltine toffee with peppermint. I forgot to get the peppermint.

And speaking of peppermint extract, I bought some of that, thinking it might be good in coffee (like peppermint oil is, but the store didn't have peppermint oil). WRONG. It is so NOT good in coffee.

Never heard of this before. I'll see if my grocer has this.

My daughter and I made some of this today. I used 1 cup of chocolate chips and 1/4 cup of peppermint to a whole package of melted bark. Put it on parchment paper and in the fridge.

Thanks for the idea. Might be a fun new tradition as it was quick and easy. Definitely a good way to introduce the kids to the kitchen.
