Can someone answer a few questions about PS4 Madden 25 for me?

1. Can I save my game progress at any point? Let's say I'm playing in Franchise mode and I'm playing a game. It's the second quarter, 3rd and 4, and I have to stop playing to go do something important like poop. Can I save my game right there and pick it up at a later time?

2. What the heck is all this Connected Career or whatever it's called?

3. I haven't played Madden in years, but I have the want for some digital football. Would you recommend it on next-gen?

No. You can't save. You can pause the game though.
I think if the PS4 goes to "sleep" (if for some reason it takes you 45 minutes to poo) it may pick up where you left off when it wakes up. I'm not 100% sure though.

Its franchise mode now. You can play as a player, coach or owner. Each type of connected careers gives you different options.
For example - if you play as a player (existing or create a player) you only control that one guy.
Coaches can only sign and trade and cut guys etc but call every play and control any player.
Owners can do what coaches can plus set stadium prices and do all of the financial shite you'd expect an owner to do.

If you have a "past-gen" console like ps3 or 360, you could get it there used for way less. You won't see a noticable difference in game play experience. The most noticable differences to me is the crowds look better and more alive (but still copy and paste clones all over the stadium) and you get a few more (albiet it still very repetitious) cutscenes during time outs and breaks in the gameplay.

Console launch year is the worst year to buy a Madden game. Its essentially an upconverted "port" with a few bells and whistles that don't make it that much better. Also, the running game is defectively difficult on PS4/Xbone Madden for some reason.

I can't recall a Madden game that ever let you do that. Maybe on PC? Its been 10 years since I played PC madden.

Actually, much worse than not being able to save mid-game, NBA2k14 took the cake with this one.
You can't even QUIT a game.

If you're losing and you want to quit to replay the game, the only thing you can do is sim the game to the end of the game. Then use the End Game option. There's no quit option unless the game is over.
When you do that, it auto-saves your progress and saves your loss....
So the only way to try again is to power down the system and restart the entire game itself.

You could do it in the $20 2K football game in 2005, how the hell can't Madden let you do it?

You can resume a franchise game but it isn't as easy as "save here". Madden creates an Autosave version of your connected franchise. If you just "close application" in the middle of the game, it should resume where you left off. I have done this twice.

Madden 07 saved in the middle of games. I have it on PS2.

So it can save in the middle of a game?

I'm 100% sure madden 13 and madden 25 do not resume in the middle of the game if you power off your system or close the game and return to the dashboard. When you restart the game you're back to where you where before you started that particular game of the season.

AJF, I've done it multiple times on Madden 25. Tonight, I can do it and post a step by step. The trick is to load the Franchise_Autosave file and not the regular file.

That would be helpful. If I can save in a game I will get it.

Ok. So this is what I did.

Start game. Played 2 mins.
Hit options. There is no place to save.
Hit PS button. Close Application. Put the PS in standby.

When everything came back on, the "continue franchise" section had my unfinished game there with the score and time remaining.

If you are stinking it up, you can go to the resume offline franchise and it will give you the option to delete the game.

So it sounds like you can do it then? This is for an offline play against the puter franchise mode?

Big thanks for checking this out for me bro.

Second question...is it a good sim? I like if it's difficult. I don't want to win every game by 40 points.

Listen. In horrible at these games. I played a couple on rookie and I smoked them. Turn to pro and it's more competitive but I'm still winning without smoking them. Veteran I haven't tried yet but, for me, I don't think it would be fun. I wouldn't be able to do much.

It's a mainstream simulator.

That means that in many cases they tone done difficulty and realistic elements for the sake of accessibility.

Resulting in the boosting of egos of armchair QBs who now think they could be Super Bowl winning coaches if given the shot

At one point in the ncaa/madden series there was a mid game save option but I believe it was a while ago
