You're supposed to be play in X number of district games to be eligible and based on assorted injuries he had this season, he must not have played in enough district games to qualify.

It's even tougher when there are only 4 other teams in the district.

Thanks for posting that brew, hadn't seen it. Hate he got hurt and missed a couple games, I'd like to think he'd have made All-State First Team at DE. He was pretty disruptive. Still proud of his accomplishments, especially as a kicker, given he had never kicked a football until they asked him to take that on in mid-August.
