Fans tweeting recruits is apparently a violation

Apparently if a fan tweets a recruit it can be seen as a NCAA violation. I had no clue this was true, I also don't see how the NCAA can truly enforce it, but it's something interesting to know. LINK

NCAA is an antiquated organization. There's absolutely nothing they can do about this anyway.

This is the most asinine rule in the world, can't imagine a Bama fan registering an acct as an LSU fan and sending countless tweets to an LSU recruit and LSU getting in trouble for it.
If that were the case, every rivalry would take this opportunity to sabotage the other. I would have accts for USC, BAMA, OLE PISS and AUBURN today and would be sending their prize recruits tweets non stop.

I think its if your a season ticket holder. I get a booklet every year with my tickets. As a ticket holder you are considered a booster. But as just a fan I don't know what the NCAA could do.

This is similar to our legal laws. If a cop wants to pull you over, there's SOME law that was written that you've probably violated. It'd be ridiculous to try enforce this though.

There's no fricking way they can enforce that. Literally every one of our recruits have LSU fans and fans of other schools tweeting them. In no way will they be able to enforce this in a balanced manner. Every highly touted recruit would be ineligible...
