It's so easy to make a deadly mistake while hunting. People don't always understand why I seemingly lose my mind about gun safety in the duck blind but whatever it takes to keep everyone safe is where I'll take it.

Two guys I know were killed in hunting accidents in La. Hunting on leases. One was killed in a blind by his grandfather, the other because some dumbass saw something move and shot. The latter was on land I used to hunt on from time to tome.

There's a lot of "other fellas" that you have to be cautious around.

Tragic accidents! A kid from my old hometown in Thibodaux tripped walking through some brush, shot his father in the back and killed him just a few years ago.
I've had a few mishaps w/ firearms, comes w/ the territory I guess. But for the Grace of God I've never injured myself or anyone else. Heck, everyone of us on this board probably has a story of a close call.

Not to this specific incident.. but a lot of folks
are getting black rifles for hog hunting(because they think they will be attacked and need many shots) and many hunters are starting to do man drives to flush pigs..
both are bad ideas...

from what I understand - it was well after dark when it happened.
