Not sure I knew anyone with an NES that didn't have it.

Game is still fun as hell to play to this day.

Had great music and was pretty hard. If you could beat Tyson as a kid you were something special in most gamers eyes.

Who had it? Who played the shite out of it? Who loved it?

Easily one of my favorites of all time.

It was really hard at the end. Super Macho Man and Tyson were hard as hell. One hit from Mike and your arse is down.

I heard they are playing this game on the street these days, knocking out white folk and such.

I played it a ton. This game sparked loads of school yard rumors around how to beat various characters, secret codes to skip ahead, and tricks to beat Mike Tyson.

It's still really fun to play. Super Punch-Out is also great if you haven't played that one.

I think I got to Mike Tyson once without using the code to skip to him but I've never been able to beat him or come even close.

every red-blooded American male who was a child at the time

I remember the first time I beat it. I was the first of my friends to finally beat Tyson and I thought was the THE MAN

After I beat him the first time I had the timing down and it got easy. Tried again a while back on an emulator. I got to the second round and knocked him down twice, but couldn't keep pace of the timing

If I had it I'd still play the crap out of it to this day

I'll get on twitch and watch players speed run it. It's insane how they have each fighter down to a science.

If you play like I did as a kid, you would too

This and Super Mario Bros were prob the two games I put more hours in to than any other.

Anyone who could beat Tyson was seen as a bad arse.

Hardly anyone could do it.

Only one guy in our neighborhood could, and a ton of us played it.

First minute and a half, uppercuts. Always watch for the eye blink right before he swings. When he does uppercuts he gets the happy feet, too. Piston Honda was like a Tyson warmup fight. Similar build, style, and timing

Yeah, I remember it 20 + years later. That's how much I played that game

I could get to Tyson back when I played it on NES as a kid, but I didn't take him til I was much older and it was more of a nostalgia game. Spent a lot of hours on this game trying to take down that bastard.

I never beat it... I had a lot of problems with Great Tiger because I couldn't defend his fast attacks to save my life. No amount of dodging or putting my gloves up would help...just couldn't ever get the timing down with it and always had to have my brother help beat him.

My least favorite guy was Soda Popinski.

His timing was extremely awkward, I could never get it down.
