Panel to recommend hires

After the 2012 NFL season, the 32 teams in the league combined to hire 14 new head coaches and general managers. Despite the presence of the Rooney Rule, which requires teams to interview at least one minority candidate for a head coaching job, no minority coaches were hired.

The NFL doesn't want that happen to again, so the league has assembled a panel of eight former coaches and general managers to help identify the top minority coaching candidates

Because NFL players are slaves, and head coaches, and GMs are slave drives and owners are the plantation masters.

What they want going to do when all the black players majority become coaches it's all statistics and then all the coaches are black and are they still going to be pushing for "diversity in the coaches

Just be patient. The Browns, Raiders, and Bills jobs will be open every 2-3 years so there will be plenty of chances.

They can piss and moan all they want, but unless they start forcing guys into jobs, they can't do a damn thing. Teams will hire whoever they think will best run their franchise. The end.

Why is there not a panel set up to identify the top white players to help teams draft or sign them? Clearly the majority of players are black and that can only be due to discrimination.

No shite. Can you read? They want to give them exposure not force teams to hire guys.

What if a white guy is better at the job? Should a minority be hired if he isn't as good, just because he is a minority?

So you're trying to tell me the only way for minority candidates to get exposure is through this "committee"? Do you really think this helps their cause for getting the job?

The Rooney rule really is an insult to minority candidates who are only being interviewed to fulfill the rule.

So nfl organizations who are run by some of the most fanatical type a types in all of business and sports need a minority job fair to realize what coaches have potential?

This shite is insulting as hell to up and coming minority coaches.

This is stupid. They already have something in place that really isn't needed. I mean seriously, its like I have a multimillion dollar organization but I am not going
To hire the best person because I don't like their color. Now just identifying candidates isn't enough.

I don't get why this is such a big deal. So what that there just so happens to be less coaches of a certain skin color. Teams are gonna hire candidates based on their on the field success/philosophies not skin color.
