I have been twice so far.

Pros:
First time I got the cuban. Ham and pork were perfectly done and the bread was great. I am not a pickle fan but their home made pickles are awesome. I got them on the side. Very good. The chips are also made in house and are good as well.

Second time i got the Club sandwich. Best club I have eaten. The smoked turkey was great, but teh bacon was incredible. I could seriously eat a whole slab of their bacon then die happily. The bread was a lightly toasted multigrain. Stood up perfectly with the meat.

Cons:

The pastrami with sauerkrat and russian dressing was good, but the pastrami needs to be a little fattier to keep the moisture. This stuff was a bit on the dry side. Also they need to get bigger or thicker slices of bread for this one. The little triangles of rye bread kinda seemed like an after thought to an otherwise good sandwich.

They did forget the dijon on my cuban but happily gave me a side of it upon request. Their dijon was damn good, a nice tang and spice all in one.

The club I got to go. Next time I'll call ahead. I don't have time to wait half an hour for a sandwich at lunch. And they forgot my pickles on the side .

The price point is a tad high I think for what you get, but the quality is outstanding. I think I will make a trip back before the holiday to get some meats and cheeses to share with the family.

All in all A+ on their operation. It was steadily busy there as I waited for my food. Looking forward to them adding more sandwiches and maybe some plated entrees to their menu!

I think this is a fair assessment overall based on my three times there.

I can go in and just order meat and cheese like at a deli? Any recommendations?

yea you can. The pastrami is good, but a bit dry. Get some smoked turkey and some of their bacon I think they sell corned beef as well. I'm not a big corned beef fan. I know they have a bunch of cheeses. The smoked cheddar looked tasty. Also have a variety of sausage, duck breasts, whole smoked ducks, whole smoked turkeys, beef stew meat, and a few other sausages.

The selection is a bit limited now since they haven't been open long. I would like to see them get more stuff like Proscuitto, Mortadela, Salami, and stuff like that.

You can dine in with a meat and cheese plate with some wine as well. I think they do a happy hour thing.

I agree that it is going to do well. They need to work on their boudin recipe a bit though. They presently don't use any liver at all. The guy told me this is because cuts the "shelf life" in half if you use liver and they don't do the volume yet to justify it. I like a little liver in boudin.

Anyway, I bought some Saturday and I missed the liver. It was also a little too moist IMO. Still enjoyable though.

Sad part is that HC and I haven't even been there. Planning on fixing that this afternoon.

Sounds really good, I'm going to check it out next time I'm in Baton Rouge. What time do they close? I may try to stop by tomorrow night on the way in to Lafayette.

I've had everything on the menu. It's all good, but my fav is the Big Pig, add bacon, and be sure to put your pickles on it

I thought the Big Pig was great. I'll be back to try more of the menu. Decent beer options too.

Went tonight for the first time and had the Cubano. I actually didn't care for the bread all that much but overall it was a good sandwich. The pork was really, really good and loved the pickles as well. Maybe it was just me but the pickles on the sandwich tasted different than the pickles that were served on the side. They probably weren't different but they tasted different to me.

Since the other place similar to this that I know of is Butcher, I'll compare them to Butcher by saying I didn't think it was as good as Butcher but it was certainly good enough and I'll be going back.
