What games will you attend?

Your conference championship game
Semifinal game
National Championship game

Your looking at three major traveling trips.
For example, SEC fan would go to Atlanta, semifinal site and final site. That could get pretty expensive.

I most likely won't go to any of them. The logistics of getting tickets and travel plans/ expenses on a week to week basis are going to further deter fans from the game experience, IMO.

Exactly.

In my 16 team scenario that I've touted for the last 20 years, all games except for the championship would be at the home field of the higher seed. That serves a few purposes, not the least of them being a motivation to schedule well and beat good teams in the regular season to help your seeding and maximize home games.

Stop calling it a playoff.

This, unfortunately. The only fans who will go are the ones who happen to live nearby or who can afford to travel on the spur of the moment.

Fans will still be pumped for the CCG and NCG.

The semifinal game may see lower turnout after the novelty of the new system wears off.

You could be looking at three flights booked on short notice, hotels that will charge maximum rates with probably a three day booking. Depending on location of game you would have to think about parking or paid transit or cab rides to get there.
