Rumors floating around LSU that Stud and Ensminger may be taking their barbeque skills elsewhere.

Adam Henry and Brick Haley have also been rumored to have some interest from the NFL.

What other rumors are making the rounds in the SEC?

Marcel Yates (our DB coach) just took the Boise DC job. He was DB coach there prior to coming to A&M.

I think Jake Spavital (QB coach) will probably end up taking an OC job before it's all done. He's been rumored with the UF job but I think he'll end up with a lower tier OC job somewhere.

I'm sure y'all are real torn up about him leaving, huh?

he's honestly a really good coach.

Our problems this year were in the front 7 btw. Our secondary was decent, especially when considering the handicap they worked under with zero pass rush and mostly left in single coverage across the board as we sold out to stop the run.

Absolutely. He and David Beatty were our top two recruiters. Plus Yates actually coached up our DBs unlike Charles McMillan, who somehow coached for both Franchione AND Sherman and failed miserably with both.

If Beatty leaves, we're basically shut out of Dallas again.

Bama fans what's the deal with Nussmeier? Was UDub the only school he would take an interview with or is he looking to step up in general?

Beaty would be our biggest loss as a position coach if he were to leave, and he is bound to get a promotion somewhere soon.

I think he would take interviews for any job on that level. Dont think he will get another one this year.

Unless something crazy happens I think we will return the same staff next year. Think it would be the first year thats happened.

I don't think it's necessarily going to happen soon. Beaty came to A&M after serving as offensive coordinator at Kansas and Rice. Now he's back as a WR coach. And he makes around $400k so it's unlikely anyone but a big school could afford to give him a raise even as an OC.

If the LSU DB coach isn't released the minute the plane lands back in BR from Tampa, then there's something wrong somewhere. He and Stud need to seek greener pastures elsewhere. LSU can do better than Ensminger as the TE coach, but he's been around enough to know the territory and is adequate. Would like to see Orgeron coach the LSU DL. Move Haley to LB's and let Chavis take over the totally confused Chinese Fire Drill defensive secondary.

Any word on staff shakeups? I read somewhere that the stuff about Joker leaving was untrue, but it's obvious no one's job is safe there.

Good god I hope Henry/Haley don't go anywhere. That would suck. Haley is arguably the best/2nd best recruiter on the staff and he's a good coach. Interestingly enough, he's paid less than Stud. Don't know wtf that is about. Where are the Stud/Ensminger rumors coming from? Thank god if those are true. Maybe we can finally get some oline in the NFL that don't underachieve being highly touted coming out of HS.

Georgia fans who aren't completely blinded by their Disney Dawg ways (The UGA equivalent to the Sunshine Pumpers) are clinging to the hope that some NFL program is desperate enough to offer Todd Grantham a job, in spite of this year's defense having been the worst-performing EVER with respect to scoring defense. Here's the Richt quote we're clinging to:
quote:

“Everybody should be back,” Richt said. “I mean, everybody’s got to do what they’ve got to do as far as if they have opportunities and all that kind of thing. We’ve got some things we’ve certainly got to get better at but the continuity is a good thing for Georgia.”

CMR isn't the sort of guy to straight up fire somebody in a timely fashion, rather he's more about letting it go a couple of seasons too far, just to see if Jesus will turn the secondary around on faith alone, but it's awfully interesting that he phrased the above like he did. Most of the fan base is pretty disenchanted with Todd Grantham. By rights, he's got no reason to be leaving, but nobody's necessarily asking him to stay.

Mostly unsubstantiated speculation, but there's been a lot of smoke and some hints that Cameron is shopping for offensive staff.

It's jims and joes not xs and os with the LSU secondary. It would be very surprising if Raymond was shown the door.

We apparently just made Jake Spavital full time OC as well. Assuming we demoted McKinney back to just RB coach. This is good news for us
