What are your thoughts on movies with a race or time crunch?

This thought came to me when the SO was watching that shitty Jonathan Taylor Thomas movie I'll be home for Christmas (Kids dad promises him a Porsche if he makes it home for Xmas dinner)

I have always hated movies with some sort of race or time crunch. What are the M/TV board thoughts on this type of plot?

I laughed at 30 minutes or less and had a great strip club scene.

I'll add Back to the Future as another movie where a time-crunch worked well

Horribly cliched and overdone. Especially the bomb with a digital timer conveniently attached.

I hate when there's a timer going off, and there's like :30 left, and then the characters have a 2 minute conversation.

I read the thread title and immediately thought "Jason Statham"

Not sure what that means.

Crank and Crank 2... which suprisingly are hilarious.
