Just saw it on Tottenhams Facebook page. Who is the replacement going to be?

I don't even care. Anyone is a better tactician than that moron. People are ripping the move on Twitter, but I don't think a lot of people have watched every game we've played. We have a goal differential of -6. We have had incredible luck just to be as high on the table as we are.

You can't spend $100m on transfers and be clinging to Europa league placement. You just can't

Agreed. That's WAYYYYY to much to spend not to at least be competing for a top 4 position. At the rate they're going, Europa qualification seems unlikely.

As far as replacements go, names I'm being heard thrown around are:
Fabio Capello (Russia)
Michael Laudrup (Swansea)
Jurgen Kilnsmann (frick off spurs you can't have him!)
Roberto Di Matteo
Harry Redknapp (would gladly welcome him back)
Mauricio Pochettino (Southampton)

I would personally love Laudrup or Pochettino. They bring exciting brands of football and their players work extremely hard. I would of course welcome Ole 'Arry back as well. The name I'm hearing as the "front runner" seems to be Capello, but I don't see him (or Jurgen) leavin their national teams with WC right around the corner

They should call Jupp Heynckes. They'd win the PL

AVB didn't spend that money but I get what you're saying.

yeah, even if they had brought in top quality players, it still takes time to mesh. they have a lot of underperforming young attacking talent. i thought AVB was a tad hard done by at Chelsea, but after watching the tactical shite show yesterday, i'm beginning to think he's a D'Antoni type who can excel with the right players but stubbornly sticks to his system even when the talent doesn't fit that system.

playing a high line yesterday was suicide. especially when you're using a RW, CM, slow arse CB, and a League One LB (i might be generous re: Naughton) as your back four against Suarez, Cou, et al. it was like AVB knew he was gone and was torpedoing shite on his way out.

Is your source that SB thread where someone posted Bradley's picture in the discussion about who should coach WBA?

Bingo. He also needs to have way more talent than the competition. See Porto.

it is kinda funny that he has the highest win % of any Spurs manager ever.

Hoddle would be a hysterical pick. he said the best Spurs XI was a 3-4-1-2 with:

vlad, dawson, jan
walker, sandro, paulinho, rose
townsend (as the number 10!!!!)
soldado, defoe

that might be as dumb as AVB's tactics yesterday.

He didn't....but you have to believe that the money was spent at AVB's request for the specific players.

True, we've had a ton of injuries, but I think the kicker in this situation was AVB's unwillingness to adapt. He insisted on sticking to the 4-5-1 even though it hadn't really worked. I just hope this will lead to Gylfi getting more playing time.

I understand why he was fired, I just disagree with it. If you are going to hire a project, then you have to be willing to have patience with the project, and you have to give the manager time to bring his players in. Otherwise don't make the hire.

As I said in the LFC thread, this makes me appreciate LFC management for their commitment to Rodgers. They hired a manager with a vision for the future, and they stuck with him through half a season of complete shite results. And it's starting to pay off.

Awesome for West Ham in advance of Wednesday's League Cup Quarterfinals matchup.

No, it was a link from Twitter. I don't have the link, but it was just speculative, definitely nothing concrete. So take it FWIW, still thought it was interesting though.

oh I absolutely agree they should have at least given him to the end of the season. no midseason pickup still do better. not to mention he was very good last year. can't expect a largely rebuilt squad to instantly contend.

as many said during the actual transfer window, their dealings were underwhelming, especially in the immediate future. whether that's on Levy mainly or AVB because he targeted those guys, I'm not sure, but I don't see things getting a whole lot better for them this season.

I agree with your point on FSG, however the situations are a tad bit different. luckily for you guys, Liverpool pretty much bottomed out (for Pool that is) prior to BR's appointment. expectations, rightly or wrongly, are much higher for Spurs right now. if those expectations were reset after the Bale sale, maybe he would have had a longer leash.
