A friend and I toyed with the idea of going this past summer. Actually starting looking at flights and everything.

I actually had planned saved and organized a group of 4-6 people to go. I backed out for a handful of reasons...expense of the trip, safety concerns, and also to boycott after Qatar received the most recent bid. i would say that safety was/is the least concerning of the reasons I decided to back out. It seems like they basically turn these events into police states catered solely towards travelers. I will say that part of me still looks for a way to attend though.

while certainly you should always been wary when traveling in unknown areas, the risk to tourists has been way overblown. these violent acts haven't been random and are just as fricked up as stuff that happens in the US.

Honestly, from someone who's been to both places, Russian women are incredibly more attractive. Ironic that that's the next country on the list.

russian chicks are smoking was actually hanging out with some on saturday, but its all about preference. The problem with the russia wc is not the women.
