We really should go into out hurry up at least twice a quarter no matter what.

It just seems like that offense is alway unstoppable. Maybe Payton just has to throw the run game out the window for now.

I've been thinking about posting this for some time. The one thing I see that has a direct effect is on the defense. As long as we convert 1st downs and they get rest between series, I'm for it. Payton hasn't been calling plays very well this season or we haven't executed well. Once this happens, the chances of getting deep in the playoffs increases.

I think hurry up somewhat creates the illusion of effectiveness because most times an offense is in hurry up it's because they are losing and no time is left. Which means the defense is winning and most likely in prevent, giving up short yardage in favor of the big play.

Broncos, Eagles, Patriots, Steelers aren't usually behind late using the hurry up. It's just not the norm right now. Perhaps it's that the Saints aren't cut out for it.

I'd like to see it as a wrinkle on the road. Only time we've done it is when we're behind. Quick tempo and fewer substitution packages could mean a more vanilla defense to shred and imo less confusion.

I'd like to see that too. New England used effectively against us.

If we get a second and short just quickly get up to the line and run another play instead of running different players in and out. Would it kill CSP to leave Pierre Thomas in for two plays in a row. Who does he think he's fooling?

Those guys are too old now to do the hurry up offense for every single quarter. They'll get wasted and gassed.

If the game were close, a lot of the big yardage plays wouldn't be there. The defense was basically giving them the receptions.

The beginning plays need to be quick passes and screens. No down the field big plays. Brees must get in rhythm. He needs to get a feel for the speed of the pass rush.

If Brees is disrupted, this team loses. To fix this short passes and quick screens in the first drives..get the ball out of his hands quickly. Let him get his stride.

The team responds to early success. Just move the chains!

Its mind boggling for me that with this offense we don't use a hurry up until the final few mins. It always seems to get us going.

You know how bad the offensive line has played this season? I'm beginning to think CSP's choices of playcalling have a little bit to do with that.

I don't think they've played well at all. At times I want to see it completely rebuilt. That being said, a lot of the plays run are slow developing. Quick slants would do this team wonders as shown by Stills early on. With drew having less time than he's used to, why not help him and the line a little and do some quick throws? How about a draw play or two? I'm not saying Payton is the problem because he's far from it. It just feels like at times he thinks he has the same line and skill sets from a few years ago and that's just not the case.

4th quarter hurry up against Houston in 2011 was a thing of beauty
