The JaMarcus/Flynn debate has taken an interesting turn in recent months

Turns out Flynn is a terrible pro QB as well.

Since both pro careers are a wash I have to give the edge to JaMarcus for at least starting two seasons at QB and because he destroys Flynn's college stats.

Plus both went 10-2 in 06 and 07.

Russell/Flynn was never a debate.

It's Russell by a mile while he was at LSU.

Both rarely played games in their NFL careers when they weren't behind terrible offensive lines. Flynn still had a better pro career overall, but it really doesn't matter.

They are Tigers and I'll always wish them well. Sad that some of our so called fans enjoy tearing down one player or another.

This*

I wanted nothing but success for Russell but figured he was screwed as soon as Oakland drafted him. I still hope he can get it together and play ball at some level.

*exception to rule is JJ

I wish them well also, more Flynn than JR because a lot of JR's issues are self inflicted.

That said, saying he's not a good NFL QB is not tearing him down...it's telling the truth.

Also, I do root for them to do well in life/their careers, whether it be football or otherwise. But it really doesn't matter to me as an LSU fan how well they play once they leave LSU. I'm not a Packers fan, and if they were playing the Saints I'd be completely rooting against him right now.

OK, you're right. One game against the worst defense in the NFL means he's a great QB. (game that he isn't winning at the moment)

I hate the Cowboys...hope they lose and hope Flynn does well. None of that means he's a good NFL QB.

put Flynn in JRs spot (his 2nd year) and he would have done just as good. oh wait, he did when given the chance.

i'd take flynn over JR, just M.O.

At LSU:
JR = bunch of wins, no titles.
MF = SEC and BCS championship.
MF > JR

In NFL:
JR = biggest NFL bust in history.
MF = still in the NFL.
MF > JR

I'd take Matt Flynn over Jamarcus Russell any day of the week.
