Steel/Lead Choke Question

I have a Benelli and some of the chokes have "No Steel" and others have "Steel Ok".
Obviously the "No Steel" is lead only but can I shoot lead in the ones that read, "Steel Okay"?
I've always used "No Steel" for lead shot and "Stell Okay" for steel only.
Last night in changing chokes it dawned on me that I might could save some trouble changing them sometimes if what I'm thinking is correct.

Lead is essentially the standard. You can shoot lead through all your chokes.

Lead is softer and therefore it's fine in all your chokes

The lead only chimes are going to be your full and extra full chokes. Steel is too hard and will ruin your barrel and chokes if you try to shoot it out of full or extra full.
