Is an absolute beast. Kid works his tail off on the offensive and defensive end. He has tremendous shot blocking skill, and never gives up on a play. He truly leaves it all on the court.
Martin is still adjusting. He's trying to find his rhythm, and he will. When he does find out look out. The sky is the limit with this kid. He's still adjusting from Class B basketball.
Hickey and Stringer are the heartbeat of our transition game. When they are on we could beat many teams, I would even venture to say a couple highly ranked teams.
One of my favs is Malik Morgan. I love his game. He can shoot it from the outside, slashes to the basket pretty well, but he too is a heck of a defensive player.
Quarterman will be solid, just needs to add a little weight. Coleman is Coleman, needs to stay consistent, but I like him in the starting lineup. This is going to be a very good team. I think we can compete with Florida and Kentucky

Of the games I've watched, Malik has not shot very well from the outside. I don't know what his percentages look like for the season though.
I agree with most of your other thoughts.
I worry when stringer and hickey are not on the court. It seems as though hickey is the only person that makes things happen. When he isn't out there, more times than not we turn the ball over or take bad shots.

EDIT: Obviously an admin agrees....anchored! If the OP changes the title to be descriptive of his post, there is a chance this thread will be unanchored.

It is easy to praise Mickey. He has been our most consistent player so far. With three and sometimes four veteran players starting, that is saying a lot.
The shot blocking is spectacular but he, and indeed the rest of the team, still need a lot of work on basic defense. The one thing that has kept a lot of inferior teams in the game with us is them getting too many easy shots.
With all of our size and ability, it amazes me how many scrums at the defensive basket end up with the other team eventually getting the ball in the hole.
Back to Mickey, as good as he has been, the kid is still a freshman. To start the game he was doing what he does best, scoring from in close. But then, ala JOB in his early years, he finds himself alone at the top of the key and can't resist taking that three which he missed. I'm sure he can make that shot on occassion and it is no big deal if it was later in the game but I thought it really changed the early momentum when they couldn't stop him next to the basket.

Admittedly, this is one of the games I was not able to watch.

Bronco completely agree. Monroe got easy baskets several times last night, even with all the blocks.

Not to mention there is another Jordan Mickey thread on the first page. Why create another rather than add to the existing thread?

Morgan fills the gap of the big guard in this team particularly on defense.
Jordan Mickey has been very impressive so far.
Quarterman has showed his youth but also showed that he is progressing in the game last night.
Give Martin time. His size and athletic ability will eventually catch up to the speed of game. I know we have Mickey and JOB but it would be great to see Martin play in the middle more
