Will Jarrel Martin live up to his billing?

Some people viewed him as a 1 and done 1st round pick in the draft next year.

I don't know if he has found his niche. He tries to play on the perimeter but idk if that's his strongest area.

Hope he comes around.

He's still not 100% from his ankle injury. He will come around just give it time.

He just needs time and work. I see a resemblance in him and Randle that plays for Kentucky. They will both figure it out and when they do both will be stars

I doubt he will be a 1 and done. I have not been impressed with what I have seen.

Do yall think his lack of competition in high school is a reason for him having a hard time adjusting to the college game?

I know most kids are evaluated based upon their AAU game so im sure he excelled at that.

I thought he'd be a 12 and 5 guy a night at least

he's not playing his natural position

he's a 4 but he's too talented to keep off the court so we play him at the 3 spot to get him PT

been saying this since last year when everyone wanted him at the 3, he's playing out of position

He lacks strength inside. His finishing ability is not good (from what I've seen).

Give him a little time. He is still young and raw. It's a little bit of an adjustment coming from Class B basketball, I don't care who you are. He will be fine.

He is still not 100% like people have been saying. He will have to get a little tougher and mix it up. I doubt that he is 1 and done. But that is not a bad thing. He will be great before he leaves. Mickey has gotten better with every game, he might be the one and done in this class.

Not saying the OP is doing this, but it makes me sick to see people already giving up on this kid. He didn't play in like 4 games to start the season. He went from 1a to college. He didn't play AAU in the spring and summer. He's a special talent and ppl need to give him a pass for a while

I keep seeing posts about Martin, but he's had some good games. No one bitches that hickey didn't even feel like playing tonight, or that JOB's performance was laughable at best.

He'll be good, he hasn't been healthy and he doesn't have to be a superstar immediately for us. He has a lot of talent, just give him some time.

Jarrel has been playing the 3 position forever. In high school he actually played the "point" forward position. On the AAU scene, he play the 3 position as well. So, for you to say he's playing out of position tells me you don't know what the hell you are talking about.

Jarrel can handle the ball. He needs to learn (and he will) to put the ball on the floor and stop settling for the long jumpers.

I believe the game is moving too fast for him right now and with years of playing against lackluster competition in high school is hurting him right now. He'll get it together either late in the year or next year.

You can see the difference in Jordan and Jarrel. They both played on the national AAU scene and are both the same age. I think the difference in each of those guy's is the competition each of them played in high school.

He's got some nice upper body strength, and can play pretty physical on defense. Hope his ankle will heal up, so he is 100%.

If Martin isn't fully healed, then he shouldn't be playing. I'd rather him sit now than let it linger throughout the season.

I suspect his performance has less to do with the ankle and more to do with adjusting to the college game.

No way JM is a one and done. I hate to say it but JOB may never play in the NBA. I think the way the NBA game is now he may lack the athletic ability.
