Deep fried stuffed flounder is unreal, IMO.

The fried chicken is pretty damn good also.

Many will tell you it is vastly overrated. It is a quality restaurant for what it is. You better show up hungry and try to talk to the owner a little around the bar prior to your meal. The guy is a hoot.

It can be very loud. Tiny room packed with tables.

I've only been once. enjoyed the meal but with poor hearing, it was a nightmare to hear everyone at my table.

That place is so filthy, I can't bring myself to go back. Lat time I was there, a roach climbed up onto the table and onto the plate of a member of our party. That's a cockroach with no fear there. Read some of the yelp and trip advisor reviews about dead rodents in the wall, spoiled food, etc... Many, many, many better choices in the city in my opinion.

I loved it when big Jamie was in the kitchen 15 years ago. Now...I'd go somewhere else.

ETA: Maybe 10 years. Don't hold me accountable.

I enjoy it...... Gotta be in a mood to drink and get loud.

A quiet evening, it is not.

Maybe Jacques will walk around with a bottle sharing shots with random people......

(what's a few roaches amongst friends? )

Best bang for your buck is the whole stuffed fried flounder. It is outstanding and HUGE. I split it easy with my wife. Also, don't listen to the haters. It is good food but a little bit pricey. Everything I had there was excellent

It was way better when Austin Leslie was there. It has been a bit of a let down the last few times we were there. My go to app is the alligator cheesecake and my favorite entrees were the flounder, stuffed pork chop, and the country fried venison.

Truth.

But all "hate" aside, I honest to God don't get the love. And I like down home authentic food. But, really . . .
