There was an excavator that burned to the ground on one of my jobsites on Thursday. The site contractor set it on top of a burn pile and it apparently had a hydraulic leak that started the Ruckus. It was a total loss of over 300k and they had three (3) superintendents standing by watching the operator on top of the burn pile. Thank god it wasn't our crew. The owner hired the site contractor direct to put the pad in. There should be (3) superintendents looking for work today, if it were me.

If you smell gas and stop to investigate only to find a small leak do not pull fuel line off the manifold because it is under a bit of pressure and when the gas hits the exhaust it flashes. Once it flashes everything else that had gas on it lights off.
