Look, it's hard for me to believe Saban will bolt for Texas, even with all the smoke and rumors going on. But one thing I can't get passed is would a program like Texas force out A coach like Mac without knowing you have a ace in the hole already committed. With recruiting wrapping up I have to believe they're not just gonna let Mac go and then perform a "search" hoping to bag a good follow up. And Saban seems to be the only name out there right now.

All the other crap about paying depth, plane flights, unsigned contracts to me has no substance, but I just can't see the program going this way unless they know they have their man.

I feel like this was decided days if not weeks ago.

I agree. This is the only reason I think Saban goes to Texas

OR

all the publicity forced UT's hand when the hand wasn't ready to play. It's my fault, it's your fault, it's TD's fault. No one is blameless.

This was decided when Jimmy Sexton let it be leaked that he had talked to the boosters. There is no such thing as an accident in this whole situation. Make no mistake about that.

No way Sexton has his other clients sign extensions without knowing the market. No agent would allow his clients to sign with such a market changer like Saban still out there. It could costs their client $$$.

Yes. Any other name like Harbaugh, which he laughed at the question, are speculations by people like us.

Not a chance. Of course, I'd have more respect for the man that revived my program than to let it slowly leak out that he's done over the course of a week...all while he is out recruiting.

I don't disagree with UT wanting him gone, but the way they've handled this is appalling and ultimately disrespectful to Brown.

None of these names are anything like Mack Brown.

Texas has their coach and has for some time, just waiting for Mack to say goodbye. As for it being Saban, i have no clue, but given the way Saban left his last 2 jobs, no one will know if it's him until he's ready.

Well, he didn't laugh at the question. The exact quote was..

quote:

"Are you trying to be funny?" Harbaugh said at his Wednesday press conference when asked about possible interest from the Longhorns. "I don't ever talk about any job other than the one I have."

Who else has their been that much smoke over? The only other people I've heard mentioned were Harbaugh (I believe he laughed when asked about it) and Les Miles from an ESPN talking head. Those constitute about 5% of all the "smoke" out there. 95% of it involves Saban.

UT wants more out of their program, the name has nothing to do with it. Brown has been on the hot seat for a few years now.
