Why would Saban be announced as UT's head coach before Sunday?

I am not saying that he is or isn't going to UT, but given he has a player being honored on Saturday as a Heisman finalist, would it not be strange for Saban to:
1) Go representing Bama if he's taken the UT job.
2) Jilt AJ and not go?
Seems a bit of a strange situation if you ask me.

Because they're as rich and only slightly less rapey than the Vatican. Thus, they do what they want.

If AJ had any chance of winning I would expect Saban to be there, but he doesn't so it really wouldn't be a big deal if Saban wasn't there.

I was thinking Nick announced on Wednesday

If Saban isn't there, that'll be a huge red flag that something is afoot.

I doubt it's announced until after the Heisman presentation. People may think he's a jerk, I don't think he steals the spotlight.

Only to people who read was too much into nothing

Announced before Wednesday. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

It's beyond jerk at this point. He was a jerk when he left LSU. He's a pathological liar and a greedy scumbag at this point.

Yeah. I don't know shite about Saban but apparently, Mack announces Friday on the LHN (at the banquet) and coaches the bowl game.
Timeline wise, you wouldn't expect any offers to be made public until a couple days after that.

No chance he goes before the Sugar Bowl. I personally don't think he goes at all...but anyone who thinks he's leaving (or named new UT coach) before the Sugar Bowl is going to be disappointed.

Is it a fact LSU wants Bama to suck it...then rag their team and fan base. Yes we do:)

How do you figure? Is he not allowed to leave a job and take another job that he thinks is better for him?

You're either a child or a failure. If I leave my job, where my employees and my peers count on me every single day, for another job for any reason whatsoever, does that make me a greedy scumbag? Of course not - people change jobs all the time. If someone asked me today if I were planning on leaving, I'd say (truthfully) "No." But, if ten minutes later another job that I wanted came calling for me, then I'd leave, and I wouldn't be a liar or a greedy scumbag.
Seriously, some people on here can't separate their (out of control) emotions from reality.
Bama is a job for Saban, just like A&M is a job for Sumlin and LSU is a job for Miles. They may like their jobs and the cities they live in, but they aren't irrevocably joined to them. People who see coaches changing jobs as some sort of "betrayal" are pathetic.

Why Are you so confident Saban is gone?

I cannot see Nick going to Texas. He is building a legacy at "Bama and wishes to finish his career at 'Bama.
The only reason I see him leaving would be to cover some major losses financially o/s of the football arena. I do not think an announcement of a move to Texas will be forth coming Sunday, Monday, or ever.
He should, however, tell all the Bama faithful he is not interested in the Texas job ASAP.
