I am going on a guided deer hunt tomorrow afternoon and a duck hunt Saturday morning. What is the usual tip for the guide on such things. I don't have much experience on pay hunts. The guy i am going with is planning on giving $100 for each hunt i think that is a bit steep what says the OB?

The hunt was purchased through a CCA banquet auction so the actual per hunt price is not really known.

That's what i am screaming

I am thinking $60 sounds fair. It isn't like it takes much effort to drop me off at a box stand. Looking forward to the trip though I hope the ducks are on Saturday morning for the opening of the split

We tipped 1000 between my dad and i on our elk trip. But we tagged out four animals and didnt have to do a thing but take pictures.
We arent much for watching other people work so we helped out but the guides earned it

Really depends on the level of service. If you dont plan on hunting there again you can really tip whatever you want, just be sure you never show up again...

Deer hunt I wouldn't tip much.
For a duck hunt we figure 100 dollars a blind if we limit. All depends on how hard the guide works though.

You shouldn't feel like you have to tip anything. I always give them something though. It really depends on several things,
-how involved was the guide?
-were you successful?
-did he clean the game?
-was he polite/friendly?
-what were the stand/blind conditions?

I had a 4 day deer hunt a few weeks ago and tipped a few hundred bucks.

I wouldn't tip on the deer hunt because like you said, all they have to do is drop you off at a box stand. I would tip at least $100 on the duck hunt if y'all kill birds. If y'all don't kill anything, I wouldn't tip but your guide is going to be setting up the decoys, retrieving the birds or working his dog to retrieve the birds and calling. So they usually deserve the tip.
