Can't help but think of Brian Hartline tOSU when I see Quinn.

And, Hartline is a good NFL receiver.

However, Trey comes in at almost 25 lbs. heavier than Hartline was as a Sr. in high school. And, his forty time (4.39) is 2/10's faster than Hartline (4.59).

So, hopefully Trey can be the stud WR we all feel like he will be.

I know the above physical comparisons don't amount to much but just thought it was interesting comparing the two.

Can't wait to see AJ to TQ.

This thread will get some good responses. No comparison jumps out immediately, but I do think Quinn fits the mold of what the staff wants at receiver. He's such an aggressive WR.

you are right..they are both white WR's. Besides that, I don't think they're similar in style. Quinn reminds me of Victor Cruz. He's fast and can take it to the house any time he touches the ball. I bet Jennings is pumped about the WR group coming in next year

I see some Josh Reed in Quinn. Quinn is a better raw athlete though.

ETA: Please don't take that to mean I think TQ will put up better numbers than Reed.

Not unless we start running a heavy dose of bubble screens. LOL. Reed made a living on the bubble screen at LSU.

I'm thinking he'll be more of a Cris Collingsworth Wes Welker Tom Waddle Steve Largent Lance Allworth Raymond Berry type.

Agreed...definitely see a little Elroy "Crazy Legs" Hirsch and Fred Belitnikoff as well. My only worry is that he turns out more Matt Jones than those guys...

This looks more like a contrast than a compare

"Besides the fact that their measurables are almost nothing alike, they're like, totally the same player and shite. Because they're white."

We get it.

Mid-sized, strong, fast, runs great routes and has great hands.

Physically ready to play right now. Only knock is that he sunburns a little easily.

Okay - we can have some perspective now, it's been over a decade.

How did that MFer get soooo open? I mean "nobody else in the frame on television" open?

A couple of games slipping by as a converted RB is one thing, but by the time he was a junior and people like the Bama DBs say, "He ain't going to do that to US." - then he goes out and shreds them for 3 hours - how is that even possible? He certainly wasn't a physical freak like Megatron. He wasn't blazing fast. He ran good routes and had good hands, but, to this day, I've never seen anyone get so open, so regularly.

Booty and Davey looked like they were throwing practice balls out there.

I know this is sacrilege to admit, but Josh Reed was the king of discreet pushoffs. He was good for about 6 offensive pass interference incidents a game, he just was a genius at hiding it and was rarely penalized.
